Skylar Skalle, one of Cheyanna’s best friends, fell ill with a strep infection that settled in her hip and resulted in septic shock and the necrosis of the soft tissue of the hip. Skylar went in to an 11-day coma after developing a case of strep that had gone septic. Her kidneys failed, she stopped breathing, and 13 doctors worked tirelessly to save her life. They were able to keep her alive, but the infection had settled in her hip. After numerous surgeries, Skylar had to rely on a wheelchair to help her get around. Skylar was learning to walk again. Skylar is a strong little girl and has the spirit and determination to fight. She now can run around and lives a normal happy life.
